Holistic, Integrative, and Mind-Body Psychotherapy
An empowered approach blending trauma-informed therapy with evidenced based and transformative healing.
Welcome to Cecily Longo, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Drawing on over 20 years of experience in behavioral health, Cecily Longo, LMFT, integrates evidence-based psychotherapy with holistic and somatic (mind-body) healing to support meaningful healing and growth. This approach emphasizes compassion, education, and empowerment, creating a space where you can strengthen resilience and reconnect with yourself.
When anxiety, depression, trauma, or chronic health concerns feel overwhelming, it can be hard to know how to navigate it all. Life transitions, medical trauma, and identity shifts often bring up deep questions of who you are and how to heal.
Confusing, narcissistic, or toxic relationships — whether with partners, family, or others — can leave lasting wounds that shake confidence, blur boundaries, and make it difficult to trust again. Family dynamics complicated by addiction or mental health challenges can add another layer of pain.
For some, the struggle also includes healing from medical trauma, coping with the impact of psychiatric medication harm, or navigating sensitive health issues. Others may find themselves longing for spiritual or identity renewal after seasons of loss, betrayal, or burnout.
Healing begins with compassionate support, clear education, and tools that restore a sense of empowerment. Trauma-informed, holistic care helps rebuild safety in the body, calm the nervous system, and nurture lasting healing — while offering space for growth, meaning, and resilience.
All sessions are conducted via telehealth, and clients must be physically located in the state of California to receive services.
Complimentary 15–30 minute consultations are available by phone or telehealth.

How Therapy Helps
Increase awareness
Therapy offers an insight-oriented approach to help you better understand how past experiences and unconscious patterns influence present-day choices. Gaining clarity allows you to consciously reshape relationships and break free from cycles that no longer serve you.
Build coping skills and communication
Strength-based, solution-focused therapy — along with DBT, CBT, and ACT — provides practical tools to manage anxiety, depression, and overwhelming emotions. These evidence-based strategies also support clearer communication and healthier relationships.
Heal through trauma processing
Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy gently helps you explore “parts” of yourself — such as the inner critic, people pleaser, or avoidant protector — and learn from them instead of fighting against them. Over time, you can feel safer, more integrated, and more at ease in your own Self.
Restore mind-body connection
Somatic therapy emphasizes listening to the body as well as the mind. Stress, trauma, and emotions often lodge in the nervous system; by tuning into physical sensations in safe ways, you can release stuck patterns and feel more present, grounded, and in control.
Additional Modalities
Emotional Freedom Technique Acupressure Tapping (EFT Tapping)
EFT Tapping is an evidenced based technique developed by Gary Craig in the 1990s. EFT, often referred to as “Emotional Acupuncture,” combines elements of behavioral therapy (CBT and Exposure Therapies) and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
When tapping with your fingertips on researched acupressure points, EFT shifts the body from a state of stress to a relaxed, calm state. Studies on EFT show up to a 43 % reduction cortisol and other stress hormones from your nervous system. EFT can be use as a DIY self-help tool, as well as in session to address deeper healing.
In 2017, two major health care organizations, Kaiser Permanente and The United States Department of Veteran’s Affairs, approved Emotional Freedom Techniques as a treatment for PTSD, anxiety, and depression.
Visit the EFT Tapping page on this website for details about training, experience, and practical tips for using this method effectively. Visit EFTuniverse.com and TheTapppingSolution.com to read more about the research behind EFT.
Symbolic Imagery Sessions
For those drawn to a Jungian-inspired approach, sessions may incorporate artwork, imagery, symbolism, and metaphor to bring deeper insight and clarity to a presenting issue or life circumstance. In April 2023, Cecily Longo completed a CEU course and became a Certified Tarotpy® Practitioner, trained by Lauren Z. Schneider, LMFT. While the name includes the word tarot, the Tarotpy method is a trauma-informed, psychotherapeutic process — not prediction or fortune-telling — and can be especially powerful for exploring dreamwork and connecting symbolic material to everyday life.
Curious to see how this works? You can find full details on the Symbolic Imagery Sessions page, listed under Healing Tools in the navigation menu. You can also discover more info on the Services page.
Coaching
You can work with me as an EFT Tapping Coach, or receive a Symbolic Imagery/Tarotpy Session, outside of being a psychotherapy client as well! However, there are some crucial distinctions to keep in mind when considering Coaching vs. Therapy, and knowing which option is right for you. Please see the Services page for more detailed information. And as always, feel free to reach out if you have questions.
